Tickets to the reception include a ticket to the 7:30 p.m. performance in the Premium Orchestra Section.
The evening is begin at 6:00 p.m. with a discussion led by Opera Lafayette's Artistic Director Ryan Brown, and by Julia Doe, Assistant Professor of Music at Columbia University and a well-known scholar of 18th-century opera, about the importance of Pierre Gaveaux's Léonore, ou L'Amour conjugal at the time of its creationin 1789 and about the impact it had on other musicians, most notably Beethoven. During their lively discussion, champagne, wine and hors-d'oeuvres will be served.
Following the reception, participants will be escorted to their premium orchestra seats to enjoy the fully-staged modern premiere of Léonore, ou L'Amour conjugal featuring a wonderful French Canadian cast in a brand new production.
