ELIGIBILITY: Entry purchaser, and anyone to whom an entry purchaser legally transfers an entry, must be either a business entity or an individual 18 years or older at the time of entry purchase. Entry purchaser must be a US citizen or US resident with a US social security or taxpayer ID number. All federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. All entry purchasers must provide OPERA LAFAYETTE with valid email and post office addresses. Those who purchase advance raffle tickets in conjunction with a ticket to OPERA LAFAYETTE’S ANNUAL BENEFIT DINNER will not receive additional confirmation. Those who purchase advance raffle tickets via online will receive an email from OPERA LAFAYETTE with ticket confirmation number(s) within five (5) business days of purchase receipt. Onsite entry participants will not receive confirmation. Questions concerning ticket confirmation number(s) should be directed to the General Manager William J. H. Chapman, at the email address listed below. For security purposes, the General Manager will attempt to confirm all purchases: Purchases that cannot be confirmed will be cancelled. By entering the Raffle, the entry purchaser acknowledges that he or she is aware of, and agrees to abide by, the Raffle's rules.
Members of OPERA LAFAYETTE’S paid staff and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, parent and related companies and agencies are not eligible to participate in the Raffle. The above exclusions also apply to immediate family members residing in the same household.
DRAWINGS: Sixty-six hundred and fifty (6,650) single tickets are available for $50 each. Tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Drawing date is April 19, 2016, for which off-site entries will be accepted until 5:00 pm EST on April 18, 2016.
PRIZES: Four prizes will be awarded. The approximate total retail value of all prizes is less than $4,325 MSRP (manufacturer's suggested retail price), based on pricing at the time of prize selection.
SELECTION OF WINNERS: The raffle drawings will be held on April 19, 2016 at the Cosmos Club in Washington, DC at approximately 9:00 pm from all eligible raffle tickets. Winners need not be present to win. A list of the winning raffle ticket numbers may be obtained by sending a request to OPERA LAFAYETTE’S General Manager at the email address shown below.
NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS: All winners will be notified via email address provided three (3) business days after the completion of the drawing. Entry purchasers can check winning raffle ticket numbers by contacting OPERA LAFAYETTE’S General Manager at the email address shown below.
CLAIMING A PRIZE: All winners will be instructed as to how to claim their prize at the time of notification. Any questions should be relayed to the General Manager at the email address shown below. Prize winners must claim their prizes before June 30, 2016.
IRS REGULATIONS REGARDING RAFFLE PRIZES: OPERA LAFAYETTE is required to comply with IRS withholding regulations. As a condition of receiving a prize, a winner must provide a completed, signed IRS Form W-9. OPERA LAFAYETTE is also required to file a 1099-MISC for the appropriate tax year 2016. The fair market value of the prize is the reported value. The winner will owe tax based on the fair market value of the prize. OPERA LAFAYETTE will report prizes to the IRS at fair market value. State income taxes may also apply to the prize, and different state tax laws apply to prizes in different states. The winners are responsible for adherence to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. Raffle ticket purchases are NOT deductible as donations.
WAIVER / LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY: Entry purchasers, by participating, release OPERA LAFAYETTE am dots agents, representatives, sponsors, service agencies and independent contractors, including advertising and promotion agencies, from all liability with respect to participation in the promotion, possession, use, and distribution of the prize(s) awarded.
If a potential winner does not comply with these Rules, then the potential winner will be disqualified, and the prize or a cash equivalent will revert to OPERA LAFAYETTE.
